  I'm not sure I agree that a left brain without a right will go insane. I'm certain that the right brain would go insane without the left.

  Then again, perhaps sanity is just another social construct.

  I applaud you on your analysis, Sab, but I tend to think the simplest solution is most often the correct one. Those who edited and compiled the book we now call the Bible clearly wanted the message to be that God literally told the Bible writers what to write. So they put those words in the scriptures attributed to both Paul and Peter, the two biggest bigwigs in the historical establishment of the church. It really is that simple.

  how important is it now and how important will it be?.

  i think of some of the cases in history that the wt has fought.... the 40s and 50s were spent defending the right to preach.

  ok pretty important gains for everyone in freedom of speech etc.

  one must distinguish between the group and the leadership.

  Why? Did Jehovah distinguish between the leadership and the rank and file Jews when he sent Nebuchadnezzar against his people? No. As usual, pretty much everyone was killed. YHWH was big on leaving indiscriminate death in his wake and there is no reason to think he's changed. "I am Jehovah. I have not changed." Sound familiar?

  even as a witness,i was uncomfortable talking about everything we believed.

  i remember working with my brother out and service and he found an interested person.

  my brother was sharing information out of the bible teach book.

  check out this quote from the nov 1, 2011 watchtower (public edition).

  the article on page 4 is entitled 'ten questions about sex answered'.. question 8: does god approve of homosexuality?.

  This is the answer. They are soft in the public version of the magazine (the 1st of the month). It's the kool-aid edition (the 15th of the month) that they're hardcore.

  What Is Happening To KH Trustees In UK? Tranfering 'Deeds' To IBSA

  had a phone call with an elder friend this week.. and he mentions that they passed a resolution at their meeting this week which involves changing the legal 'ownership' of the 'deeds' of the kh and transfering it to wts/ibsa in the uk.. this 'new arrangement' comes direct from wt hq apparently.

  he goes on to say how it passed the approval of the congregation and then laughingly said how1 brother was not in favour of the resolution.. he said: "you always get one don't you?

  this was all news to me, as far as i know we have not had this happen here.. what do you guys think?.

  Your understanding is correct, BroMac.

  This is a relatively new phenomenon in the USA. Kingdom Halls used to belong to the local congregation. They still do. The difference is that over the past 12-15 years or so the Watchtower has "encouraged" congregation trustees to amend their bylaws/articles of incorporation to name the Watchtower Society as the owners of the real estate and other material property should the congregation dissolve.

  Who decides when a congregation dissolves? The Borg.

  So who REALLY owns your Kingdom Hall?

  You can see this if your state's record-keeping system has converted its records to pdf's available to the public. You can look at original articles of incorporation for your congregation (from the 1970s for example), and subsequent amendments.
